Wellbeing and Child Protection
Wellbeing
The City School International – Sharjah
The City School International – Sharjah (TCSI) places strong emphasis on actively engaging students in their learning journey, fostering positive and respectful relationships, and cultivating a deep sense of belonging within the school and wider community. We are committed to respecting, valuing, encouraging, supporting, and empowering our students by providing them with the tools and guidance necessary to achieve personal and academic success.
TCSI Sharjah recognizes that student wellbeing is fundamental to achievement. Our wellbeing curriculum is embedded across subjects and co-curricular activities, ensuring that wellbeing becomes part of everyday school life rather than a standalone initiative. Through structured programmes and meaningful engagement, students develop essential life skills that contribute to their confidence, resilience, and overall growth.
To further strengthen student wellbeing, the school utilizes a range of data sources including internal school data, student attitude surveys (PASS), and Cognitive Ability Test (CAT4) assessments. By carefully analysing this information, we identify students who may benefit from additional support. In such cases, we work collaboratively with parents to ensure that every child receives the care and guidance needed to thrive both academically and personally.
By prioritising wellbeing and involving students, staff, and parents in a shared responsibility model, TCSI Sharjah fosters a nurturing environment where learners flourish holistically.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy
TCSI Sharjah maintains a comprehensive Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy designed to promote emotional resilience, positive relationships, and a supportive school culture. The policy ensures that mental health awareness is embedded within teaching practices, student support systems, and pastoral care structures.
Child Protection and Safeguarding
The City School International – Sharjah recognises child protection as an essential component of safeguarding and promoting student welfare. The school has established a clear and comprehensive Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy outlining the actions taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every student.
These guidelines provide direction to school leadership and all staff members in responding to concerns, allegations, or suspicions of abuse. Staff are trained to remain vigilant and informed about appropriate procedures, including collaboration with relevant external authorities when necessary.
Our primary goal is to support the holistic development of every child by fostering security, confidence, and independence. Safeguarding is a shared responsibility, and every member of the school community is expected to exercise a duty of care at all times.
In the event of any safeguarding concerns, parents and students are encouraged to contact the relevant Head of Section or the Designated Safeguarding Lead. This ensures that concerns are addressed promptly, professionally, and in accordance with national regulations.
TCSI Sharjah aligns its safeguarding procedures with the UAE Ministry of Education’s National Child Protection Policy in Educational Institutions, ensuring a consistent, robust, and comprehensive approach to student safety.
At The City School International – Sharjah, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, protected, and empowered to succeed.
Together, we nurture confident, resilient, and thriving learners.
