We encourage parents to apply early, as year groups may fill quickly.
Admission to classes is dependent upon seat availability. Preference may be given to siblings of currently enrolled students.
A child’s name will be placed on the waiting list upon submission of the application form and payment of a non-refundable registration fee of AED 500. Please note that payment of the registration fee does not guarantee admission.
All admissions are subject to approval by the relevant educational authorities in the UAE.
The City School Sharjah is an inclusive international school, welcoming students of all nationalities, backgrounds, and faiths.
All applicants are required to complete an age-appropriate assessment to ensure correct placement and appropriate academic support.
Assessment format by year group:
FS1 & FS2: Informal one-to-one, play-based observational assessment (communication, behavior, interaction, and ability to follow instructions).
Years 1–2: Age-appropriate written assessment.
Years 3–10: Written admission test.
Years 11 and above: Previous academic results, admission test, and student interview.
Placement is determined by:
Assessment performance
Seat availability
Review of recent school reports
Parents must provide the most recent school report at the time of assessment.
Complete the online or in-school application form.
Upload or submit the required documents.
Pay the non-refundable registration fee of AED 500 (required before scheduling the assessment).
After submission, you will receive confirmation via email with further instructions and the scheduled assessment date.
Your child will attend the scheduled assessment.
Parents will be notified of the outcome via email.
Successful applicants will receive a formal offer letter valid for one week.
If no seat is available, your child will be placed on the waiting list.
To confirm admission, parents must:
Pay the non-refundable Admission Fee of AED 1,000.
Submit all required original documents to the Admissions Office.
Admission is confirmed only after document verification and official approval.
Parents must submit the following:
Copy of child’s passport
Copy of child’s residence visa (when available)
Copy of child’s birth certificate
Copy of child’s Emirates ID (front and back)
Copies of both parents’ passports
Copies of both parents’ residence visas
Copies of both parents’ Emirates ID cards
Recent passport-size photograph of the child
Latest school report (last 2–3 years for Secondary applicants)
Learning support documentation (if applicable)
Original Transfer Certificate (attested as required)
School Leaving Certificates must be attested by:
Ministry of Education (origin country)
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (origin country)
UAE Embassy (origin country)
Ministry of Foreign Affairs – UAE
Attestation is not required for students transferring from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, or most European countries.
Age placement follows UAE Ministry of Education guidelines. Age-appropriate assessments are conducted to ensure suitability for our curriculum and integration within the cohort.
For Years 3 and above, placement is based on the Transfer Certificate from the previous school.
